Early Life and TrainingLucile Grahn was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. She emerged as the most accomplished Danish ballerina of the 19th century, known for her ethereal physique and unwavering determination. In 1829, she made her debut at the Royal Danish Ballet under the tutelage of August Bournonville, a choreographer who later fell deeply in love with her.
